Copy Cat
Copy Cat is a series focused on the idea of method acting—the ability to live as a character in order to become them.
In this work I observe different people (characters) for an extended period of time, photographing them in their environment (set). After studying their mannerisms, I take the characters clothing (costume) and reenact all of the actions I observed. Later in post-production, I composite the two images, one of the character and one of myself, the actor. In an attempt to not fall into the trap of creating stereotypical characters, I kept the subject very much involved in the creation of this work.
