[Artist Statement] Photography is a medium that constantly experiences technical innovations. Digital formats have unquestionably become the current dominant mode for photography, marginalizing film and the darkroom. Most of my work is made inside a color darkroom, I am engaged in the physical nature of the process. Lately my interests have been concerned with the space between the photo paper and enlarger light, there is potential in this space worth exploring (and with urgency while film and paper are still manufactured). Photographs are images, my practice is more concerned with the physical manifestation of a photograph. In opposition to the notion of a window onto the world, these are objects intended to exist in the world.
